Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was named as the next prime minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th general elections. However, no sooner when the announcement was made, all hell broke loose. Pakatan Harapan (PH) is in shambles and is in a big mess. Let us take a look at some of the issues. And how they will affect the rakyat.
Pakatan Harapan divided straight away
As soon as it was announced that Tun Mahathir will be the next prime minister,
Pakatan Harapan was immediately divided.
All sorts of protests were held from all over the country.
They include disgruntled delegates at Pakatan Harapan’s convention recently.
Others dissatisfied leaders include PKR Women’s chief Fauziah Hamzah, Melaka Pakatan Harapan women’s wing chief Mahani Masban and Pro Reformis 98 activist Shafiq Ali.
Tun Mahathir too old, not trustworthy, does not keep his promise
Among the gripes given by Pakatan Harapan members is that Tun Mahathir cannot be
trusted, too old, bad track record and does not keep his promise.
Some said Pakatan Harapan members never learned their lessson when Tun Mahathir
sacked and jailed Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The opposition never learn.
Tun Mahathir just want Mukhriz as prime minister
Tun Mahathir is not sincere and just want to appoint his son as prime minister.
Law Professor Datuk Dr Abdul Halim Sidek said Mukhriz stood to benefit from Tun Mahathir becoming the prime minister.
So Tun Mahathir is not sincere and he is playing out Pakatan Harapan.
Shocking for Kit Siang to allow Tun Mahathir to become next prime minister
MIC treasurer -general Datuk Seri S. Vell Paari said it is shocking for DAP’s Lim Kit
Siang to choose Tun Mahathir as its candidate.
Speaking to an English daily, Vell Paari said it would be a dubious world record as Dr
Mahathir would be the oldest politician to be made prime minister.
Hard to convince young supporters to support Tun Mahathir
PKR leaders will face an uphill task convincing their young supporters to accept Tun Mahathir.
Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) political analyst Dr Rusdi Omar told the New Straits Times on January 7, some young voters on Facebook voted for PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir for the two top posts.
This clearly indicates friction among the coalition’s supporters.
Tun Mahathir may not make way for Datuk Seri Anwar
Pahang Umno deputy chief Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin said Tun Mahathir
may not make way for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
This could be true as Tun Mahathir may even try to manoeuvre his son Datuk Seri
Mukhriz to become deputy prime minister position in the event that Pakatan Harapan
wins the 14th General Election (GE14).
PH has no long-term strategy
By naming Tun Mahathir, it shows that Pakatan Harapan has no long term strategy.
Sangeet Kaur Deo, the daughter of late DAP chairman Karpal Singh said Pakatan
Harapan has no clear gameplan and is an act of desperation.
PH has no confidence in themselves
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said Tun Mahathir cannot attract the youths to vote for Pakatan Harapan.
Pakatan Harapan is not confident that they can secure a win, and have to
piggyback on former Umno leaders such as Tun Mahathir.
This also means that they are not sincere and would stoop to such tactics to win.
Despite 20 years of struggle, PH still in a mess
Pakatan Harapan won Selangor and Penang without Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
But after 20 years of struggle, Pakatan Harapan is still in a mess.
PKR Wanita Chief Zuraida Kamaruddin is disappointed with Pakatan Harapan’s
choice of Tun Mahathir.
This is proof that the opposition pact is so disorganised and still unable to name a
candidate agreed by all even after 20 years of struggle.
Pakatan Harapan’s prime minister is a puppet of DAP
Whoever become the prime minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the next general elections will be a puppet of the DAP.
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah told Bernama that eventually DAP will become the dominant party and the prime minister will become the puppet of the DAP and abide by its policies.
Tun Mahathir is bad news for Indians
Tun Mahathir Mohamad’s possible return as Malaysia’s prime minister is bad news for Indians.
In a statement, MIC Youth chief Datuk Sivarraajh Chandran said the Indians were poorly served during Tun Mahathir’s time.
He said Indian leaders in the Pakatan Harapan coalition would not be able to attract Indian voters as Tun Mahathir’s administration deprived an entire generation of Indians of valuable opportunities and rights.
Tun Mahathir will be rejected by voters
Tun Mahathir will be rejected by the rakyat in the upcoming general election.
Pas Youth vice-chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari told Berita Harian on January 9 that in the 1999 general election, the Malay majority roundly rejected Dr Mahathir, thus forcing the former premier to resign from the government’s leadership post.
BN is as solid as a rock
Barisan Nasional (BN) should not be worried with Tun Mahathir being
named as the next prime minister if PH wins the upcoming 14th general elections.
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said BN is as solid as a rock.
BN however must continue to serve the rakyat to show them that BN is sincere and will work hard towards the betterment of the rakyat.
How will this impact the rakyat?
The most impacted out of all this is the rakyat.
This is because Pakatan Harapan is full of lies and is deceitful.
The rakyat must not be duped with Pakatan’s sweet promises.
The rakyat must not risk the stability and peace provided by BN all these years.
The rakyat must think of their children and their future.
And only BN can ensure a good future for the betterment of the people.
