The Federal Territories Ministry will be holding a meeting with Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa regarding problems faced by residents of people’s housing projects, said its minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
He said the talks would encompass problems related to the building and maintenance issues faced by residents of Projek Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA), Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1Malaysia (PPA1M) and Rumah Mampu Milik Wilayah Persekutuan (Rumawip) housing schemes.
Among the problems are hall maintenance fees, rubbish removal facilities, lifts and the upkeep of the surroundings, he said.
“Such matters must be viewed seriously, more so because these housing projects are still new. We understand their grievances and want to resolve them as soon as possible.
“The Barisan Nasional puts the people’s interests first and their welfare is paramount,” he told reporters after opening the inaugural annual general meeting of the residents’ association (RA) of PPA1M Palma, Presint 11 here today.
Also present was Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president Hasim Ismail.
Meanwhile, Tengku Adnan urged owners of PR1MA, PPA1M and Rumawip homes to set up RAs so issues and suggestions could be highlighted and addressed quickly.
“Among others, they can discuss the setting up of kindergartens or nurseries. RAs help promote harmonious living in which residents look out for each other, something which is truly needed in an urban setting,” he said.-BERNAMA
