A man, his two sons and a daughter were found dead in a bedroom of their house in Perdana Heights here today.
The man was 48. His two sons were five and six years old, and his daughter was eight.
“Based on initial investigations, police believe that before the man hanged himself, he had suffocated his children, most probably using a pillow,” Kedah CID chief SAC Mior Farid Al-Athrash Wahid said.
Mior Farid said the motive was believed to be financial problems.
For now, he said the case had been classified as sudden death.
Meanwhile, the man’s 20-year-old son from a previous marriage said his father had come to see him and his 19-year-old sister two days ago.
During the meeting, he said his father told them that he was sad.
“I know that the three siblings had been absent from school for the past week. Their mother died 20 days ago,” he told reporters at the scene.
The bodies were taken to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for post-mortem.
