Starting Jan 1, motorists will no longer have to pay toll charges at the Johor Bahru Eastern Dispersal Link Expressway (EDL).

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) in a statement yesterday said currently toll collections at the Sultan Iskandar Building toll plaza comprised two divisions, namely PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) and EDL.

The statement added that motorists were only required to pay PLUS tolls according to the class of the vehicle.

“Class 1 vehicles pay RM2.90, Class 2 pay RM4.50, Class 3 vehicles RM6.10, Class 4 RM1.40 and Class 5 pay RM2.30,” explained the statement.

During the tabling of Budget 2018, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak had announced the abolition of toll collection at the EDL.-BERNAMA
