Police yesterday released 50 photographs and details of the state’s most wanted criminals, to assist in solving cases of violent crimes and rape.
State Criminal Investigations Department chief Assistant Commissioner Fazlisyam Abdul Majid said among them were three siblings and a 27-year-old woman from Alor Lintang, Kampung Raja in Besut.
He said they were being sought to assist police in a case classified under Section 326 of the Penal Code, for causing grievous hurt.
“Thirty-four of the suspects were from Besut district and aged between 30 and 60,” he said at the Kuala Terengganu police contingent.
Fazlisyam said the 50 photo-fits of the suspects would be posted on Terengganu police’s Facebook account.
“When we released 30 photo-fits five days ago, two of them surrendered at the Kemaman and Besut police stations and a family in Kuala Terengganu alerted the police on their relative’s whereabouts,” he said.
Fazlisyam said the state CID would soon release more than 600 photographs of wanted criminals in stages to seek the public’s help to track them down.-NST
