Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali today announced a 3 month bonus for selangor civil servants in the state.
The Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman, in tabling the state’s budget today, said he agreed to give special financial aid that was unmatched anywhere, “even in Putrajaya”.
“Selangor civil servants will face more challenging responsibilities in 2018.
“As a form of encouragement, Selangor civil servants will have their bonuses increased from two months’ salary to three months’ salary,” he said at the state assembly today.
The move is expected to have financial implications of RM94.65 million.
Azmin also said the bonus would be enjoyed by 6,725 religious teachers (kelas fardhu ain), 371 traditional village chiefs, 78 Chinese new village and Kampung Bagan chiefs, as well as 48 Indian community leaders.
Last week, Prime Minister Najib Razak, when tabling Budget 2018, announced a special one-off payment of RM1,500 for over 1.6 million civil servants in the country.
Similarly, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng announced during the tabling of the state’s budget that the state government would give out RM2,000 bonus to all “well-performing, disciplined” civil servants next month, while others would be assured a minimum payout of RM1,000.
